Interpret and analyse the economic and financial environment

The Economics and Finance Postgraduate Award combines the tools and knowledge needed to develop a clear understanding of the financial landscape in which organisations operate. You will examine the macroeconomic climate, the financial management of business, and the role and importance of financial markets. Together, the skills of analysing an economy and the financial situation of a business enable managers to make strategic decisions for business growth, nationally and internationally.

Build your Postgraduate Award by completing the Bronze, Silver and Gold modules in two online courses, plus an Integrated Assessment after completion of the courses. For the Economics and finance award you will complete Making Sense of the Economy - Online and Introduction to Financial Management - Online courses.

How you will study

The two Online Short Courses required for this Postgraduate Award are Making Sense of the Economy - Online and Introduction to Financial Management - Online courses. The Bronze and Silver modules are self-paced, so you choose how much you want to learn and when. For Gold modules, two days (5 hours each day) of live-online learning is required (see dates on course pages).

  • Bronze: 4 hours online, access anytime
  • Silver: 6 hours online, access anytime
  • Gold: 10 hours live-online learning

The integrated assessment covers both modules and usually consists of a 4,000-word report, completed during a specified 5-week window.  Full details will be provided nearer the assessment time.
